This is the Debian GNU prepackaged version of Gawk, a pattern scanning and processing language. Gawk was written by Diane Barlow Close, Arnold D. Robbins, Paul H. Rubin and Richard Stallman. This package was put together by Chris Fearnley <cjf@netaxs.com> (debian.* files were originally prepared by Ian Murdock <imurdock@debian.org>), from sources obtained from: ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/gawk/gawk-3.1.6.tar.gz Until version 3.1.6 it was maintained by James Troup <james@nocrew.org>. It is now maintained by Arthur Loiret <aloiret@debian.org>. Gawk is Copyright (C) 1989-2009 Free Software Foundation. Modifications for Debian GNU Copyright (C) 1995-1997 Chris Fearnley.
